Once in two years it invites up to 500 contestants from all over the world to perform their national music in the heart of Samarkand - the Registan Square.Grandiose and captivating event!
Five days in August Samarkand, also called "The Beauty of the World", will host musical performers from up to 60 countries during International Musical Festival Shark Taronalari ("Melodies of the East"). It is one of the largest festivals in Central Asia initiated to popularize, preserve and promote national musical art. Throughout the festival you will be a witness of astonishing performances of up to 300 contestants performing their national music from all over the world, surrounded by the majesty of the three madrasahs on Registan Square. A truly unforgettable experience!
